Privacy notice
dontflake.lol has no accounts and asks for no contact details. This page sets out exactly what is stored, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- We don't ask for your email address, phone number, or payment details, and we never have.
- There are no user accounts and no passwords. Your “session” is the name you typed, stored in your own browser.
- We store what a plan needs to work: the plan name, the display names people chose, the days they marked, the locked date, who was picked to organize, and the preferences entered for the plan step.
- The planning tool carries no advertising. The written guide pages do, and those pages use third-party advertising cookies.
- We don't sell data, and we don't build advertising profiles ourselves.
What we store when you use the planner
Creating or joining a plan stores the following on our hosting provider's servers:
- The plan name you chose — e.g. “Summer at the lake”.
- The display name each person or crew entered. Most people use a first name or a nickname. You are free to use anything; it doesn't need to be your real name.
- The four-letter invite code and the plan's internal identifier.
- The days each person marked as available, the agreed length, and the date window the group locked.
- Which participant the wheel selected as organizer.
- The preferences entered at the plan step — group make-up including children's age ranges, lodging and travel preferences, interests, pace, an approximate per-person budget, how far you'll travel, and any free-text wish you type. Please don't enter anything sensitive in the free-text fields.
- The generated plan text for that group.
A lowercased copy of the display name is also kept as an index, so that reopening the site can show you the plans that name belongs to. There are no server-side logs of your browsing beyond the ordinary request logs our hosting provider keeps for security and reliability.
What's stored in your own browser
The name you typed is saved in your browser's local storage so you don't have to retype it. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. No advertising or analytics cookies are set on the planning tool itself.
Who can see a plan
Anyone with the four-letter code and the link can view the plan and join it if a spot is open. That's deliberate — it's a tool designed to be pasted into a group chat, and it's what makes joining possible without accounts. It also means the code is the only thing protecting the plan, so share it with your group rather than posting it publicly. Individual availability picks are hidden from other participants until everyone in the group has submitted.
Third parties we rely on
- Netlify hosts the site and stores the plan data described above, and processes ordinary technical request data such as IP addresses as part of serving the site.
- Anthropic may process the preferences your group submits at the plan step in order to generate the plan text, where AI plan generation is enabled for the site. Only the preference answers and the plan basics are sent — not your browser data. Submitted content isn't used to train models. If AI generation isn't enabled, the plan is assembled from your answers without any third party involved.
- Google AdSense serves advertising on the guide pages only, as described below.
Advertising on the guide pages
The written guides (/guides and /how-it-works) are funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. On those pages:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Where required by law, a consent prompt is shown before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using that prompt. No ads and no advertising cookies appear inside the planning flow.
Children
The tool isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The plan step asks how many children are in the group and their approximate ages so that recommendations are appropriate; that's information an adult enters about their group, and we ask that you don't enter children's names or other identifying details.
How long we keep things
Plan data is kept so the group can come back to it. If you'd like a plan removed, email the address below with the four-letter code and we'll delete it. Because there are no accounts, we can't verify who owns a plan beyond knowledge of the code, so requests are handled on that basis.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the information held about you, or to object to certain processing. Email us and we'll help. Since we hold no contact details, the invite code is usually the only way to identify the relevant records.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes materially, the date at the top will be updated. Continued use after that date means you're working from the updated version.
