A small, free tool for the specific moment when a group chat agrees to do something and then never does it.

Why it exists

Every group has the same unfinished plan. The enthusiasm is real, the affection is real, and the thing still never happens — because the one genuinely hard question, when, gets asked in a chat thread where every answer is buried by the next one and no answer is ever final.

dontflake.lol does that one job properly. Everyone marks their availability without seeing anyone else's, so the answers stay honest. The overlap appears only once the last person has submitted. A wheel picks who organizes, so nobody has to volunteer. Then the locked date goes into everyone's real calendar, where it can defend itself against the rest of their week.

The principles it's built on

• Quick beats featureful. The whole flow should be finishable on a phone in a few minutes, in a browser tab, on the first try. Anything that adds a step has to earn it.
• No accounts. A tool you paste into a group chat cannot ask eight people to sign up. Your session is the name you typed, stored in your own browser.
• Ask for as little as possible. No email addresses, no phone numbers, no contact list access, no card details. The group chat is a better notifier than anything we'd build.
• Decisions, not bookings. We don't reserve anything or take a cut of anything. The output is a date and a plan; you book it wherever you like.

Who makes it

dontflake.lol is an independent side project, built and maintained by a very small team that got tired of watching the same trip get postponed. It's free to use. The written guides carry advertising, which covers hosting; the planning tool itself doesn't, and won't.

It runs as a static web app with a handful of serverless functions, and stores only what a plan needs to work. What that means specifically is set out in the privacy notice.

Where it's going

The near-term list is short and mostly about polish: clearer handling of groups whose calendars never intersect, better sharing of the finished plan, and making the availability step faster on small screens. If a version for teams and hospitality venues ever happens, it will be a separate paid product — the free tool stays free and stays ad-free inside the flow.
